Eliminating single use plastic

We work closely with all of our suppliers to eliminate single-use plastic from our deliveries (95%) .

All of our ingredients are delivered in re-usable delivery crates, which are returned to the suppliers, or in cardboard boxes which are then broken down and recycled.

We’re aiming to eliminate single-use plastic entirely from our operations by the end of 2022.


Zero food waste

We aim to have zero food waste.

Routinely, we waste practically no food (<1%), this is because our produce is shared between our XO Shawarma kitchens to guarantee that it doesn’t go to waste.

We run menu specials to use left-over ingredients, and any food that is remaining is donated to local food banks and charities.


Free Range Meat

We’re committed to using 100% free-range meat in all of our dishes.

We believe that healthy meat shouldn’t cost the earth, however, improving on animal welfare usually means higher carbon emissions. We are working closely with local farmers to help keep our emissions as low as we can.

With this in mind, our meat is always ethically sourced from local British farms. As well as dramatically improving animal welfare, free range and organic farming use fewer energy-intensive methods, whilst also improving the land quality by conserving soil and reducing erosion and water pollution.


Locally Sourced Ingredients

95% of our food is sourced right here in the UK.

This means that we’re serving ultra-fresh food whilst keeping food miles as low as possible. We rotate our produce, eating what’s in season, and look to support local farms and biodiversity.
